Just off my needles is this wonderful cardigan with a curved bottom hem and lots of eyelet and lace detailing.
It's a top-down design so it's seamless!
The sleeves are 3/4 length and belled with a lovely lacy leaf design. The bottom hem is curved to be longer in back and gracefully curved up in front.
The wide lace border is then picked up and knit from the top down. Button bands are picked up and knit.
This sample is finished off with perfectly complimentary leaf design horn buttons.
A beautiful piece that can be the centerpiece of your outfit or the perfect accompaniment to your pretty summer dress.
This pattern is coming soon!!! Gotta write it up and run it by the tech editor.
While making this, I did try it on when one of the sleeves was not finished. It looked GREAT as a short sleeve vest/cardigan! So, I finished one sleeve just as a little rolled edge (see photo above). A nice option if you are not wanting the belled sleeves (or you ran out of your stash yarn!).
And the beauty of top-down is that you can also easily skip the bell-shape of the sleeves and just continue in the lace without any of the increases. A slim long sleeve would make for a very nice cardigan as well!
The yarn? Knit Picks Swish Worsted in Lettuce. A very pretty shade of green. Great to work with. Light and soft.
