Rosi G. from Brooklyn, NY knit her version of the #73 Women's Top-Down Short-Sleeved Cardigan in Henry's Attic Prime Alpaca (2 skeins, yarn held doubled) in Nutmeg.
Here's what Rosi had to say about this project:
"Total 3-day sweater!! I love how quickly it went and how easy the pattern was to follow. Total yardage in a bulky yarn would be 665 yds. Not bad for a cardi for a big girl like me. Yarn held-doubled. My gauge is 3.25 sts per inch.
Mods: Increased the raglan until I had 41 sts for the sleeves. Added 4 sts on each side of sleeve instead of the 2 called for in pattern. Also picked up 8 sts at the underarm on the body to match the 8 for the sleeve. Slipped the first stitch of each row on the sleeves only. Added a third button and buttonhole. I only knit 12 rows of garter for the end of the sleeve (bound-off on the wrong-side using k2tog tbl method).
It looks great and your mods were spot on!
The alpaca in the yarn really ups the elegance of this cardigan. Great to dress up or down.
Nice job!
