#164 Night and Day Eternity Scarf

Kathleen's Eternity Scarf

Photo 1Kathleen C. of Toronto, Ontario Canada knit up her version of the #164 Night and Day Eternity Scarf in a bold color story.

She used Briar Rose Fibers, worsted merino in Colourway - Fourth of July.

Here is what Kathleen says about this knitting project: "I actually finished the project on July 4th!

The pattern was very easy to follow and well written. The lace pattern was interesting and fun. The brioche was super simple, didn't keep me quite as engaged - I'm not a TV watcher, but could see where this would have been perfect.

I loved the contrast in patterns so kept working through it, knowing I was going to be very happy with the results.

I loved how the patterns and yarn colourway worked so well together. First chilly Fall day, this will be the one I will reach for to keep me warm.

I modified the pattern a bit, I used 55 stitches as I have a long neck and prefer a higher cowl. I used a lighter weight yarn, switched down to 5mm needles to get a neater look. I did more rows to accommodate the difference in gauge." -- Kathleen C.

Thanks, Kathleen, for sharing your finished project with us!

To show you how differently a pattern can turn out by personalizing it with your choice of yarn, here is a photo of my original sample, which I knit in DROPS Garnstudio Big Merino yarn:

Marjet's Night and Day Eternity Scarf

Marjet_Scarf2_optHere's a finished #164 Night and Day Eternity Scarf from Marjet M. of IJsselstein, Utrecht in The Netherlands!

"I discovered your patterns by using ravelry, now I signed up for the sweaterbabe email updates to stay for news from you.

I like your patterns a lot so I think that I wil knit in the future more Sweaterbabe patterns.

My Englisch is not so good, so I hope you’l understand what I write 

I made the scarf for my colleague. She retired last week. Since one year I followed some knitting lessons and I teached myself a lot by wachting knitting videos or by following video knitting courses.

My collegeague and I made plans to follow knittings lessons together so I thought that the handmade scarf was a nice present for her. She was very happy with it and like it a lot!

I used for the scarf Drops Big Merino, color 07 jeans blue. The scarf was easy to knit, I only didn’t know what a P1B was, but I found it out by watching some knitting videos that I googled on the internet. So I learned something new! I always like it when there is something new in a pattern. " -- Marjet M.Marjet_Scarf_opt

Thanks, Marjet for sharing your finshed project and I'm so glad you discovered me!

Your scarf looks great worn both ways! The color is the perfect denim blue that I can see being worn for many seasons!

BTW - Love your drape neck top too ;-) Tops like those are the perfect backdrop for fabulous knits!
