Pretty Pixie from Anne H.

Here's a bold-colored pixie hat, the #91 Fancy Stitch Pixie Hat pattern, that is a great pattern you will use again and again!

PixieHat

This one is knit by Anne H. of Ashland, OR. Here are Anne's comments on this pattern:

"I love this pattern! I've made this hat for newborns and for my 85 year old grandmother (by her request)." -- Anne H. of Ashland, OR

Anne used Caron Simply Soft in Raspberry.

"The pattern was easy to follow and fast and fun to knit, and produces a cute hat that makes me look like an advanced knitter (I'm not). I especially like that there is just enough flourish to the hat that it would make even very plain yarns look good." Fancy_Pixie_HatS_350

Thanks for sharing your finished project, Anne!  Looks like you've got this pattern down!  Hope your Grandmother is enjoying hers ;-)

(At right is the original sample on my little one, who's now 4 years old!)

Cabled Baby Set for Kira

Here's a great sweater set that a customer knit for her toddler.

Kira_Sweater Kira_Sweater_1 "Hi! I knitted these two patterns [The #66 Beautiful Cabled Baby Jacket and #57 Cabled Baby Beanie (a free download!)] for my younger daughter last year as we were visiting Boston for Thanksgiving.

I started with the hat and then made the cardigan. Both patterns were so easy to follow and I had them both completed within a week! I used Jo Sharp Silkroad Aran in Color Bud for both and the yarn was great to work with.

I didn't know what buttons to use but I came across the strawberry buttons that I had stashed away and they matched perfectly. We used the hat and cardigan in Boston and lately we have been having so many cold snaps in Miami that we have worn them more often since we came home.

Kira looks so adorable in them that I plan to make a set for my niece as well. Thank you for your wonderful patterns. All the best, Suzanne (and Kira!)" -- Suzanne T. of Miami Beach, FL

"Since I've discovered your top-down patterns, it's almost impossible to go back to knitting separate pieces and having to join them. I am now a devoted follower!"

Thanks, Suzanne!  I can see that Kira enjoys wearing the set too!  She's adorable!!!

Geraldine's Baby Jacket!

Geraldine R. from Woonsocket, RI made this pretty version of the #66 Beautiful Cabled Baby Jacket for her granddaughter.

Here are her comments and details: "I love the pattern, it is so easy to make and I love that it is worked from the top down.

I used Vanna's yarn, color burgundy. I thought the pattern was easy, but if you don't know how to cable then it is a easy to medium."

Thanks, Geraldine! She looks adorable in it and it fits her perfectly! California visit 1009 017 California visit 1009 017_CloseGreat color choice!

Cute Baby Photo in Cabled Baby Jacket Knitting Pattern

Here's the latest Cute Baby Photo from a knitting mom:

"I wanted to thank you for the excellent cabled baby jacket pattern.  It was so easy to follow and resulted in a beautiful sweater.  I've made three already (one for my daughter and two more for friends)!  Attached is a picture of my daughter, Isha, wearing the sweater I made for her.  I used Bernat cottontots yarn as a substitute with size 9 needles.  My kids have very sensitive skin, so I needed a yarn that was 100% cotton.  It came out great, and is machine washable and dryable!  The extra small took less than two skeins (I had enough left over to knit the matching cabled hat).  A sweater and hat for $6 bucks!

Thanks again for the pattern!" -- Neyha R.

Thanks Neyha!  Great photos of your lovely baby girl.  Wonderful to see the pattern done in a different yarn, giving it such a different look.  Here's the original pattern in Debbie Bliss' Cashmerino:

Here's the latest Cute Baby Photo from Joyce in California:

"Hi, here's a picture of my grandson, Noah John, at 12 months.  He's wearing a cardigan and matching hat in Debbie Bliss merino wool.  I knitted his nickname, 'NJ' into the hat.  We love him pieces.  You can tell from the pictures, but he's got red  hair!  I love to knit for him.

The v-neck cardigan pattern came from the Debbie Bliss 'Baby Knits for Beginners.'  I used Debbie Bliss merino wool.  I've also made a ton of the boat neck sweaters, with rolled hems from the same book that came out great." -- NJ's Gamma

Cute Baby in a Crocheted Hat.

Here is the newest addition to our Cute Baby Photos:

"Here are some pictures of my daughter, Chloe, in the first thing I ever crocheted. She was 15 months old (it was 4 months ago). It's the "Anarchy/Irony" hat from Stitch N Bitch Crochet. I actually made it for me, but she decided to try it on, so my husband grabbed the camera and started shooting."
